Deschutes Recycling Donates Produce from Garden to NeighborImpact









This is the second year for the Deschutes Recycling Garden, located at Knott Landfill in Bend.

The garden was started with the goal of donating all of its' produce to local food banks in Central Oregon. Deschutes Recycling employees plant and maintain the garden throughout the spring and summer.

To date, Deschutes Recycling has donated over 815 pounds of produce to NeighborImpact. This is up from 160 pounds in 2010. NeighborImpact will distribute the fresh produce to local food banks, helping them to provide nutritious food to Central Oregonions.

"This has been a great project and our employees love being involved with the garden. NeighborImpact is a great partner and we look forward to watching this garden grow year over year," said Brad Bailey, President of Deschutes Recycling.
