New E-Waste Program at Deschutes Recycling

Currently, Oregon E-Cycles provides free recycling of computers, monitors and TVs. Beginning January 1st, 2015, computer peripherals (keyboards and mice) and printers will be added to the Oregon E-Cycles Program.

Half Price Yard Debris Recycling


Monday, October 27 - Saturday, November 8, 2014 (closed Sunday, November 2), residents can recycle their yard debris at Deschutes Recycling for half price - only $2.00 per cubic yard.  The yard debris will be recycled into compost and clean energy fuel.

FireFree encourages residents to complete their fall clean up and maintenance of defensible space by bringing branches, leaves, shrubs and pine needles to Deschutes Recycling during this event.

Stumps must be smaller than 12" in diameter or they will not be accepted.

While at Deschutes Recycling, take advantage of the 25% off compost sale going on through November 29, 2014.  Compost is an essential ingredient to winterizing your lawn and garden.

The annual appliance recycling event held by Deschutes County Solid Waste is scheduled for:

Free "Bring Your Own Bucket" Event

Newport Avenue Market and Deschutes Recycling are sponsoring the third annual 'Bring Your Own Bucket' Event.

When: Saturday, May 3, 2014

Where: Newport Avenue Market (1121 NW Newport Avenue, Bend)

When: 9:00 a.m. - while supplies last

Customers are invited to come down to Newport Avenue Market on Saturday and bring their own 5 gallon bucket to fill with Deschutes Recycling's ReGrow compost for free (while supplies last).

ReGrow compost is a nutrient rich product made from locally recycled yard trimmings, recycled food and vegetable trimmings. ReGrow compost is a perfect supplement to the sandy Central Oregon soils.

Cubic Foot Bags of ReGrow will also be available for sale.

ReGrow - now $22 / yard. Save $8 per yard.
This is our newest product and will be great for your garden, lawn and potted plants. This product contains 50% food based compost which enhances nutrients, especially nitrogen.

BioFine - now $19 / yard. Save $7 per yard.
Premium compost which is specifically designed for topdressing existing turf and where a finer blend may be needed. For lawns, we recommend a spring and fall application each year. BioFine can also be used as a seed starter.

SoilBuilder - now $15 / yard. Save $5 per yard.
Perfect for amending soil before planting or sodding, tilling into garden spots, building up mounds for planting and for use as a decorative alternative to bark in all garden areas.

The Hazardous Waste Facility is located at the Knott Landfill Recycling and Transfer Facility and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday and Saturday of each month. The drop off dates for March are Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15, Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29.

Document Shredding


When stopping by Deschutes Recycling, remember to bring those outdated records for shredding!  Documents will be safely stored in a locked container and shredded by our SecureShred truck. SecureShred provides complete on-site document destruction and is locally owned serving Central Oregon since 1995.

No advance document sorting is necessary. Or if you’d like, you can schedule the SecureShred truck to come to your place of business or home.

We provide one time or regular scheduled shred services. As a professional member of the National Association for Information Destruction, documents are destroyed to a size that meets national standards.
