Oregon DEQ approved the first paint product stewardship “take-back” program in the nation. The PaintCare program which began in July 2010 is funded by paint manufactures and allows consumers to return unused paint to participating sites for proper disposal. The non-profit organization PaintCare was created to administer this program.
Deschutes Recycling is a part of this statewide paint stewardship program and is a drop off site for the collection of post-consumer latex and oil-based paint. Residents can drop off paint during normal operating hours, which is Monday – Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., closed Sundays. Deschutes Recycling is located at Knott Landfill, 61050 SE 27th Street in Bend.
