New Product Available at Deschutes Recycling
Premium Ground Cover is a new product now available at Deschutes Recycling.
Premium Ground Cover is coarser with larger particles than the Premium Mulch product.
Premium Ground Cover particle sizes are between 5/8” and 1” with a few smaller pieces. Ideal use as ground cover in beds and borders. Premium Ground Cover has similar appearance to barkdust, but stays dark longer and will hold in windy areas.

If you're looking for an attractive ground cover that stays darker and lasts longer than barkdust, Premium Mulch is the product.
Premium mulch is a ‘split’ between SoilBuilder and BioFine compost. When BioFine is made from SoilBuilder, the material that is screened out is Premium Mulch. Because there is limited supply, this product goes fast.

FREE Tire Recycling Event
Saturday, March 20th from 7:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m., residents can bring their old tires to Knott Landfill (61050 SE 27th Street, Bend) and recycle them at no charge.
Tires can be on or off the rim but please keep them separated. Limit 12 tires per household. If residents have more than 12 tires, they need to contact Deschutes County Solid Waste at 541-317-3163 for approval.
This free event is not available to Businesses, Retailers or Auto Dismantlers.

Deschutes Recycling, Knott Landfill and all Transfer Stations will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2010, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday.
The facilities will re-open on Tuesday, January 19th at 7:00 a.m.
